Liam's Goal

Today Liam shared his presentation about David Walliams.  It was so interesting to hear all about him and the books he has written.  Liam even read a snippet of the novel he is reading at the moment and we all wanted to hear more!!!  At library time there were a few people who searched for David Walliam's books and have taken them home to read.  That is how much Liam managed to inspire us about this author.  Well done Liam!!!

Kapahaka Performance

Today we got to see the results of all the hard work that had been put into the Middle Team Kapahaka.  What a wonderful performance!  Thank you Mrs Yeoman for all your effort, they looked and sounded amazing!

Harrison's Goal

Today Harrison shared his goal with us.  He has researched about some different science and technology topics and written his own book.  If you are interested in robots, lasers, energy and more then have a look in our class library.  Harrison has done an amazing job - we think you could be an author!

The Middle Team Choir trip to Woodhaugh Resthome

Today the Middle Team Choir walked down to Woodhaugh Resthome to perform to the residents.  We have been practising hard during term 2 and 3 and all the students sang beautifully.  It was so wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the residents and to know that we had brightened up their day.

Māori with Mrs Yeoman

We are loving having Māori with Mrs Yeoman on a Friday morning!

Selena the sensational speller!

Congratulations to Selena who was awarded a distinction in the ICAS spelling competition.  This means she got more than 90% correct!  Wow - Mrs King and Mrs Spencer know who to ask if they don't know how to spell something!

A furry visitor

Today Evie's homework presentation was about 'Kippa' her puppy.  Fortunately for us we not only learnt all about her, we got to meet her too!  Adorable!

STEAM Challenge - Swinging Bucket

Can you make a structure with a swinging bucket strong enough to hold a pair of scissors?  You only get 20 straws, 1 metre of string, 1 metre of masking tape and a plastic cup.  It may sound difficult but three of our groups were successful!

STEAM Challenge - How Strong is Spaghetti?

Today's STEAM challenge was very tricky.  The groups had to try to make a structure that would hold books on top by using 100 pieces of dry spaghetti pasta and some polystyrene.
